Case Study: Early Adopters - Idea Box
Early Adopters aren't Easy. Here's why:
Many Average Entrepreneurs make two mistakes in finding early adopters:
They engage whomever is closest. Family, friends, coworkers or simply anyone easily accessible to them.
They think early adopters are people who are pre-disposed to try new things. More technical, always wanting the latest gadgets, acting impulsively, etc.
The latter may come from Everett Roger’s theory published in “Diffusion of Innovation”.
Both are old ways of identifying early adopters. Since superseded by a better one.
