Stop Managing Time
Whether you're Bill Gates or Beyonce, time is unmanagable.
I’ve had a years-long battle with managing time. It borders on, and occasionally oversteps into obsession.
Then I had a breakthrough: I realized time cannot be managed.
I have ample evidence. Empirical and anecdotal. No matter how hard I tried, time wouldn’t do what it was told.
I tried to slow it down. It seemed then to fly. I prayed for painful periods to pass, and minutes behaved like hours.
And through it all, I’ve never succeeded in manufacturing a single minute.
Despite what so many time management experts advertise.
I have, however, had some success at managing me.
Here’s the bedrock on which we will build our week: Start by managing yourself.
Your energy. Your environment. Your schedule. Your influences. Your choices.
